Job Summary
The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) provides essential support to clients with daily living activities, promoting their comfort, safety, and well-being. This role involves assisting clients with personal hygiene, mobility, meal preparation, and light housekeeping. Ideal candidates are compassionate, attentive, and dedicated to supporting clients' independence and quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care needs, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Support clients with mobility and transfers, including helping them move safely from bed to wheelchair.
- Prepare and serve meals, adhering to any dietary requirements.
- Provide companionship and engage clients in activities to promote emotional well-being.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as tidying up, doing laundry, and maintaining a clean living environment.
- Monitor clients' physical and emotional condition, reporting any significant changes to a supervisor or healthcare provider.
- Adhere to health and safety guidelines and follow care plans provided by supervisors.

- Basic knowledge of personal care, hygiene, and safe transfer techniques.
- Attention to detail and the ability to follow care instructions accurately.
- Physical ability to lift, support, and assist clients with mobility.

Preferred Skills
- Previous experience as a PCA, caregiver, or in a similar role.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Familiarity with basic medical and healthcare terminology.
