Job Summary
The Server provides attentive, courteous, and efficient dining service to guests, ensuring a positive and enjoyable experience. They are responsible for taking orders, delivering food and beverages promptly, and maintaining a clean and organized dining area. A successful server is detail-oriented, can handle high-pressure situations with grace, and has a friendly, approachable demeanor to build rapport with guests.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly, escort them to tables, and present menus.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders from guests and relay them to kitchen staff.
- Serve food and beverages quickly and accurately, ensuring all orders are complete and to guest specifications.
- Maintain knowledge of menu items, including specials, ingredients, and potential allergens.
- Check on guests regularly, refill drinks, and respond to requests promptly and courteously.
- Process guest payments accurately, handle cash and credit transactions, and manage receipts.
- Clear and reset tables efficiently after guests leave, ensuring cleanliness and readiness for the next guests.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and other servers to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- Follow all health, safety, and hygiene guidelines to ensure a safe dining environment.
- Assist in restocking and organizing service areas, including bar and dining essentials.
Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a server or similar customer service role in a fast-paced dining environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to memorize orders and deliver exceptional customer service.
- Basic math skills for handling payments and cash.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, and carry trays for extended periods.

- Knowledge of food and beverage safety and handling practices.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
