Barback

Job Summary

The Barback supports bartenders by ensuring the bar area is stocked, organized, and clean, facilitating smooth and efficient service for guests. This role involves restocking supplies, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting with minor tasks to enable bartenders to focus on customer service. The ideal candidate is fast-paced, attentive, and able to work well under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Restock bar supplies, including glassware, garnishes, and liquor, to maintain a fully equipped bar at all times.
• Clean and organize the bar area, washing glassware and utensils as needed.
• Refill ice bins, change kegs, and ensure all mixers and ingredients are available for bartenders.
• Assist bartenders in preparing drink garnishes and other pre-service preparations.
• Remove empty glasses and bottles from the bar area and dispose of trash appropriately.
• Monitor and manage bar inventory to prevent shortages during service.
• Support bartenders with additional tasks as requested, especially during peak hours.

Skills and Qualifications

• Ability to work on your feet for long periods and lift heavy items, such as kegs and ice bins.
• Strong sense of urgency, attention to detail, and time management skills.
• Basic knowledge of bar operations and common bar tools and equipment.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
• Team-oriented, with good communication skills to work effectively with bartenders and other staff.

Preferred Skills

• Previous experience in a bar or restaurant setting.
• Familiarity with basic bar terminology and drink preparation.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in bar environments.
